Government of Gujarat led by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, in coordination with the Central Government, has successfully sent back 2 lakh 4 thousand migrant workers back to their respective natives. workers from other states who have settled in trade and industry manufacturing units for their livelihood in Gujarat are being sent back to their natives with proper management and following special process.
347 labour trains have run across India for sending back migrant workers. Out of this, Gujarat has sent the maximum number of trains, i.e 147. This 147 trains departed from Gujarat include 29 for Bihar, 89 for UP, 22 for Orissa and 5 for Jharkhand.
In Gujarat, especially in cities including Surat, Ahmedabad, Morbi, Jamnagar, Vadodara, workers from Bihar, UP, Orissa, Jharkhand, who have come and settled in industrial units for their livelihood, have been benefited from such special trains.
Under the direction of the Chief Minister, such workers are registered by the district administration of the state and are transported from their places by bus or other vehicle to the railway station, maintaining social distance. Not only this Social distancing is also maintained on railway stations.
As many as 1 lakh 51 thousand workers from Gujarat have sent back to their state by 126 trains till Friday.
38 more labor trains will operate from Gujarat today which include 28 for UP, 3 for Bihar, 1 for Jharkhand, 3 for Orissa and 3-3 for Madhya Pradesh.
Trains to depart on Saturday include 12 from Surat to UP and 2 to Bihar, 6 from Ahmedabad to UP and 1 from Rajkot to UP and from Anand, Dahod, Gandhidham, Godhra, Morbi, Nadiad etc. stations.
