Third phase of Sujalam Sufalam Jal Abhiyan in full force

The Sujalam Sufalam Jal Abhiyan, which was initiated with the inspiration and guidance provided by Chief Minister Viay Rupani entered Phase-2  on 20th April, 2020.

Providing details of the same, Secretary to CM, Ashwani Kumar said, “3,638 works related to SSJA are under progress and 481 have been completed so far.”

Around 7470 machines like the JCB are used under SSJA. In addition to that , about 24,700 tractors and dumpers are being used to transport the dug out soil to farms and other places. A total of 32,170 machines and equipment are being used under the SSJA at present.

Various works such as increasing the depth of check dams, reservoirs, small and big rivers etc have been undertaken so far. The water holding capacity created under Phase-3 is around 32 lakh 71 thousand cubic meters. The campaign has also created employment equal to 5 lakh 85 thousand-man days under MNREGA.
