Today, Delhi BJP President Adesh Gupta and Leader of Opposition Ramvir Singh Bidhuri met with Lt Governor Anil Baijal and requested to intervene in the matter and ensure that a new temple is constructed in Chandni Chowk and idols of Hanuman ji & other deities removed from the demolished temple be placed there. The Lt. Governor responded positively and assured appropriate action. State Media Head Naveen Kumar was present during the media interaction.
State President Adesh Gupta said that, there is resentment amongst people of Chandni Chowk over demolition of Hanuman Mandir & falling of the ancient Peepal Tree. Local residents, temple committees, religious organizations and the Hindu society, all want to be allowed to re-build the temple and restore the idol of Lord Hanuman. He also said that, it is very unfortunate that in the name of beautification, the Public Works Department of the Kejriwal government demolished the sacred ancient Hanuman temple at Chandni Chowk and now has also cut down the old Peepal tree. The Public Works Department complained about non-cooperation of Municipal Corporation and police, and said that the ancient temple is becoming a hindrance between beautification, requesting court to allow demolition of the temple. He asked that, the Kejriwal government should explain why they took the matter of the temple to the court, especially when the religious committee has the authority to resolve the matter, headed by Kejriwal government’s minister Satyendar Jain. The matter of ancient Hanuman temple could be sorted out very easily through the religious committee, the temple would also have been saved from demolishment and the work of beautification would have continued but CM Kejriwal did not let it happen.
Adesh Gupta said that, immediately after the demolition of the temple, the cutting of the Peepal tree by Public Works Department with the written permission of the Kejriwal government, clearly shows that the removal of the temple was part of the planned conspiracy of the Kejriwal government. This shows the anti-Hindu mindset of the Kejriwal government. Now to avoid the questions of Delhiites, they are doing politics of accusation. The sin committed by the Kejriwal government of hurting the faith of Hindus by breaking the ancient Hanuman temple is unforgivable. He said that, the Lt. Governor has assured us to take appropriate action towards restoration of the ancient Hanuman temple.
