Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the people of the state must be made aware of using masks in all circumstances and restrict their movement in order to contain the spread of Covid-19. Presiding over a high-level Unlock review meeting here at Lok Bhawan on Tuesday, he made a fresh appeal to the people that they should move out from their houses in urgency only while maintaining two-meter social distancing norm and putting on masks compulsorily. He said the state government may hike the fine if somebody is found without mask at public places and asked the health department to issue necessary guidelines in this regard. The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over setting up of over 33,000 Covid Help Desks in the state and said they should function in a proper way. He directed to conduct medical examination of inmates of Child Protection Homes, Women Shelter Homes and Old Age Homes. If somebody is found infected, he or she should be taken care of.
The Chief Minister directed the health department to make additional arrangement of ambulances at district level, he also asked to encourage use of TruNAT machines in the private hospitals. Asking to ramp up Covid testings, he said apart from rapid Antigen Testings, the RTPCR testing method should be used to test 30,000 samples per day. He also directed to regularly inform the relatives about the condition of the patients admitted in the Covid hospitals. He said that the cleanliness and sanitation should now be an integral part of our system to repulse the Covid infection. It will help in controlling all communicable diseases including Covid-19. He asked to extend cleanliness programme further and build community toilets in all the Gram Panchayats. Piped water supply schemes should be run effectively to ensure pure potable water and the people should be made aware about drinking boiled water to ward off various- water-borne diseases. He asked all the nodal officers should take up cleanliness and potable water on a mission mode. Chief Minister said that all the concerning departments including cane and horticulture departments should work in tandem to check the menace of locusts attack. He asked to issue timely alert and wide publicity to minimise the loss of lives due to lightening. The use of newspapers and public address system at Gram Panchayat level may be helpful for this. He also directed the irrigation department and revenue department to prepare an action plan for flood control and relief.
