Mahatma Gandhi wasn’t just at the head of India’s freedom movement, but he also inspired civil rights and freedom movements worldwide. His legacy is well known, and his relevance still thrives in the hearts and minds of people in many countries of the world. There are numerous collectors of Gandhi memorabilia across the globe, including several museums dedicated to him, but the largest private collector of items related to Mahatma Gandhi is the 76-year-old Kishore Jhunjhunwala from Mumbai.

The super successful series ‘OMG! Yeh Mera India’ on HistoryTV18 showcases the incredible achievements, amazing interests, and gob-smacking talents of Indians across the length and breadth of the country. Kishore Jhunjhunwala’s collection, featured on the next episode of the series, consists of more than 25,000 items, classified into more than 100 categories, including rare stamps and coins, medals from other countries, rare original editions of old newspapers, among much more. This collection was even showcased at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Mumbai by the Ministry of Culture.
