Dial 100 to come to Home to Lodge FIR
Home and Health Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra launched country’s first ever ‘FIR Aaapke Dwar Yojana’ in Madhya Pradesh here today. Dr. Mishra had directed to launch the scheme only five days ago and the Police implemented it within five days. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to implement such a revolutionary scheme.
Dr. Narottam Mishra, while launching this scheme at the new Police Control Room today said that during the Corona crisis a number of problems will be easily solved through this scheme. People would not be required to visit police station to lodge an FIR; the latter would come to them for this. This would prove to be a milestone. He also launched helpline ‘Dial 112’ on the occasion, to facilitate immediate availability of ambulance, police and fire fighting services wherever needed.
DGP Vivek Johari, ADGP Upendra Jain, ADGP Telecommunication S.K. Jha and other senior police officials were present on the occasion.
Dr. Mishra informed that ‘FIR Aapke Dwar’ scheme has been started as a pilot project in 23 police stations including one urban police station and one rural police station at 11 divisional headquarters and one urban police station in Datia. He said that Dial 100 has won the hearts of people. It has saved a number of lives threatened by road accidents. Now on receiving complaints Dial 100 will rush to the homes of complainants to lodge FIR.
DGP Shri Vivek Johari informed that Dial 100 vehicle would have trained Head Constables to lodge FIR. FIRs in complaints of general nature will be lodged on the spot. In case of serious complaints guidance will be sought from senior officers. He informed that ‘FIR Aaapke Dwar’ will be implemented till August 31 as a pilot project. After this, its impact will be assessed and after necessary improvement and amendments it will be implemented in entire state.
Today the first FIR of Sunil Chaturvedi of Jawahar Chowk, Bhopal was lodged by Dial 100. He had made a complaint of the theft of his vehicle MP 04 ST 0959 on Dial 100.
While launching Dial 112 under Emergency Response System the Minister said that on dialing this number ambulance, police assistance and firefighting service will be available. The complaints received at the Control Room will be classified and action by concerning departments will be ensured. By launching Dial 112 Madhya Pradesh has joined the leading states of the country.
Dr. Narottam Mishra lauded the functioning of the Police. He said that the Police has helped and served the people during the Covid-19 crisis just as military defends the country on borders. The police personnel are serving the people by wearing the PPE kits in scorching summer, which has changed the people’s thinking about them. He felicitated police personnel who risked their lives to perform their duty.
