The MCD by polls outcome is the result of Cong and AAP match fixing-Adesh Gupta
Bharatiya Janata Party president Adesh Gupta has said the results of the corporations’ wards by elections clearly show that the Congress and AAP had teamed up with each other. He said the decrease in vote share of Congress in Shalimar Bagh and its increase in Chauhan Bangar ward is a proof enough that the Congress and AAP conspired against BJP. In the last polls, the Congress had got 8000 votes from Shalimar Bagh which has now come down to 2000 while in Chauhan Bangar area, its vote share has gone up which shows how they worked in tandem against us, he added.
While stating that no victory or defeat is final for any political party, Gupta asserted that his party would fight the next year’s municipal corporations’ elections with renewed energy and a new strategy.
We may have lost the elections and may be down but certainly are not out, he said adding the party has not lost the courage and will contest the 2022 elections with even more enthusiasm and renewed energy.
Reacting to results of the five municipal corporation wards by elections announced today, the BJP president said the party would soon introspect the reasons for its performance in a meeting and then adopt a new strategy. We will see what went wrong and try to rectify it. But the fact is our workers did hard work despite a negative campaign by the AAP and its government on the working of our corporations, he added. The fact is party is totally against corruption.
Stating that there are new faces in the elections every time, Gupta said even in the last corporations’ elections, almost all the faces were new and that the party would take a call on this after the meeting to assess what went wrong.
He said there is a vast difference between by elections and the main elections and that our work performances in all the three corporations has been very good and people trust us. Whatever shortcomings have been there we will try to overcome them as there is sufficient time for that, he asserted.
